Transformation is a continual process of letting go. If you are really want to make a change in your life, your health, your diet, your relationships, or really anything, you have to de-clutter what’s around you and holding you back. Out with the old habits, lifeless job, thought processes, furniture, Oreos in the pantry, fill in the blank, to make room for the new. Something that I tell my clients is that you can’t bring in the new couch when the old one is still sitting there taking up needed space.
A lot of us have big goals and dreams but don’t know why we can’t fully see them through. We get stuck because we aren’t willing to make the needed adjustments to allow ourselves the space to reach for these dreams. We literally GET TRAPPED by our cluttered environment to the point where we can’t move. This environment includes not only your physical environment like your home or car or workplace, but also your inner environment like the thoughts you have about yourself or others, your stresses, and the people who are in your life. Our inner and outer environments are so closely related that our outer environment is typically a reflection of what's going on internally. So take a look around. Is your house a mess? Is your purse or wallet overflowing with old receipts, gum wrappers, or 8 different lip glosses? Are items falling off your desk or pantry shelves? If you got embarrassed while thinking about any of those (I know I did!) then take a look inside as well. What is bogging you down? The good news is that you have the power to change this space you've been living in! And it's easier than you think.
Clearing your clutter or distractions could be as “simple” as your closet or pantry, or as more emotionally complex as clearing out relationships that are toxic, or your calendar! Start with the smaller things and work your way up to make room for the positive change you want in your life. What is it that is weighing you down and keeping you in that state of “stuck”? BE BRAVE and clear it out! Here are a few ways you can start doing this TODAY. Pick 2 or 3 of these that would be the EASIEST for you to do and start there. Then keep that beautiful snowball rolling. 3 Steps to Clear the Clutter in You Life:
YOUR ENVIRONMENT
Break this down into separate rooms (or categories if you want to go Marie Kondo style)
Get rid of junk food in the pantry. Ask, "Will this bless my body?" if the answer is anything other than yes, toss it!
Give yourself an hour to go through your closet and/or dresser and if there are items that someone else would benefit more from than you, pull it out and give it away...either to a friend or a stranger by making a donation
Clear off your desk and old papers
Remove (ahem, THROW AWAY or recycle :)) piles of magazines or projects
Remove piles of stuff on bookshelves
Clear your email inbox from beyond the past two weeks
YOUR SUPPORT
Spend time daily with people who think and take action
Don’t spend time around negative voices
Seek out friends in higher income levels for motivation
Think of someone who drives you nuts. Ask yourself, “how much energy do I spend/lose trying to control or change things I can’t? What do I need right now to help me feel happy, relaxed, fulfilled?”
$$$
Bring all money owed to you up to date
Use your giftcards! Shopping spree :)
Gather loose $$ and either save it (vacay fund??) or spend it in the next 7 days
Unsubscribe to monthly subscriptions you’re not utilizing!
Clear out the clutter and junk in your wallet or purse

The trick is to just get started! It doesn't have to be anything major but go make the first step and let me know how it goes!
